This day was filled with so much joy, and if it were on the enneagram it’d be a 7.
We didn’t really know what we were in for in the best of ways. Matt and Lindsey asked us earlier this year to be a part of their love story and we couldn’t have been more excited. We met up with them in Charlotte, spent an evening at coffee shops and getting good food, and we created something special.
Building trust with those around you is a funny thing. It requires vulnerability, enthusiasm, feelings, and overall a sense of allowing your walls to be broken down just the right amount. Normally; it’s baby steps that turn into leaps and bounds, that turn into consistency. Matt and Lindsey jumped in feet first and let us know who they are, what their life is like, and what they dream of every day. We shared so much on that spring evening that we knew that their wedding day would be special, we just didn’t know how special.
We showed and were greeted with hugs, smiles, and “oh my gosh I can’t believe it’s today”. It was amazing. Like meeting an old friend again that you haven’t seen and you’re coming together for this one spectacular reason.
We learned something special about wedding days from these two; the details are great but the anticipation and connection is worth so much more. Matt and Lindsey couldn’t wait to see each other, they were like kids on the best kind of Christmas morning. It wasn’t about the dress (which was amazing), or even the party (also amazing), it was about them. They knew that this day was a launch pad. They knew that it was simply the beginning.
And wow, what a beautiful beginning.
