Something special happens when someone keeps a promise. Ben sat across from me over 4 years ago and said, “if I marry this girl, you’ll be there.” He called me about a month before he proposed to her and I could hear the excitement in his heart before he even told me what was happening. It was over the next year that these two took us on a journey. They welcomed us in as family and they quickly became dear friends of our own. We climbed mountains (multiple times), we ate food, drank coffee, shared stories, adventured, and saw the inner most parts of all of us. Come their wedding day, we were family.
It was a beautiful day, a windy afternoon, and not a cloud in the sky. Amidst all the decorations, place settings, food, and unbelievable ceremony site, a peace and stillness surrounded everything. It felt like a current, one that when you were swept up in it you were comfortable. You were welcomed, and loved.
This Overlook Barn wedding is full of moments that cause you to stop and relive over and over again. From Abby’s dad seeing her for the first time, to Ben playing the guitar and singing for them both before the ceremony. Even a surprise proposal from Abby’s brother, Colby, to his fiancé during the reception. I hope that you enjoy reliving one of the best stories we’ve had the pleasure of being a part of from beginning to end. Ben and Abby, thank you for welcoming us as family, for letting us be who we are as you did the same. I say that at the intersection of authenticity and trust is where I’ve placed my business and the core of what I set out to do each and every day. These welcomed that philosophy with open arms. Here’s to you two, let’s party again soon.
