A lot can happen on a wedding day. People will potentially buy the wrong colored shirt, they might forget their keys, they might even encounter a weekend that’s full of hurricanes. Andrew and Haley’s weekend fell on the same weekend that rain storm after rain storm beat down all across North Carolina. They chose to move their day to the next day because a glimmer of hope in sunshine was on the forecast and their families sprang into action. Never have I seen such a labor of love, something that was done completely out of selflessness by those that they hold most dear. Friends and family spent the hours before setting up, reorganizing, putting things together, and then all got ready to celebrate in the atmosphere of love. A crazy thing happened that day and it wasn’t the cloudless sky when there was 6 inches of water the day before. It wasn’t in the grand miracle of clear weather, it was in the stillness of time as every person and heart was truly for these two. You could see it, feel it, and hear it as laughs and memories were shared so vulnerably and vividly. Conversations weren’t spaces for small talk, they were halls for genuine and deep connection. Something like this is irreplaceable and I’m so glad that I got to be a part of telling it. Andrew and Haley, I’ve got big time love for you both and cannot wait to see what lies ahead in your journey together. I hope you’ll bring me along for it all.
